How Many Fence Posts Do I Need?
Post count = line posts from spacing + end posts + corner posts + gate posts. Always treat corners and gates as breaks in the run.
Quick method
Avoid leftover stub bays with post spacing normalization.
Example
Straight run: 96 ft Target spacing: 8 ft Line posts between ends: 96 / 8 = 12 bays → 11 intermediate posts Add 2 end posts → 13 posts total (Add more for corners and gate posts on a real yard.)
